Hi all
Till the uploading proble is solved may we have materials dispatched by email. My email addresses are knardeosingh@mail.gov.mu and knardeosingh@yahoo.com. If all students could provide their email add this would help in the comminucation process.
Dr Hyleen, may we have an idea when will the 2nd module start. Is there a coordinator modulewise or only one for the Edulicense programme? Please provide us with his/her contact details (tel, email add).

Hi there, yes you can download the files. for the Key call MIE 466 0228 or 466 1174 and ask for the EO Mrs Meera Extension 415. You should scroll down the icon on teacher support till you get to the educator's license, then you can download. Sorry for the delay but was one week in Rodrigues.Left a message with Soudesh though. Let me know if you cannot access it and feel free to email on add nefertiti@intnet.mu if you you want me to give you feedback at your assignment. Your other module may be starting in two weeks' time. settle that with the co-ordinator Dr Ramma yesterday.
Good luck

Thank you Dr Varma and Dr Mariaye for making available this platform to Educator's License Trainees. Lets hope that it will be used constructively in the interest of all.
While browsing for resources on the MRC website I came across the presentation on "Indiscipline and Violence in Secondary Schools" Dr V Ramharai, Mrs A Curpen, Dr H Mariaye, Mauritius Institute of Education 30 November 2006. The executive summary , synopsis and presentation slides are available at the following address http://www.mrc.org.mu/Violence.htm
If possible may we have access to the full report as it seesm to be a very pertinent resource

Hi there,
It is not the policy of either the MIE or the MRC to provide full reports on website but you can purchase a hard copy at MRC.

Hi Dr Mariaye
Thanks for information, as concerns this actual platform, could you please provide a brief introduction on its use during the class on Monday next. As expected, the elearning culture is at its early development stage in Mauritius and needs to be boosted. Though elearning is not within the EDL framework, it will help very much. Moreover with the possibility of having the Distance Learning mode for the PGCE it would good if the actual pool of EDL trainees are encouraged to get acquainted to elearning. Anyway the main pool of trainees for the forthcoming PGCE (Distance Learning Mode) if realised ,will be coming from the EDL source.

Dear Mr Nardeosingh,
thank you for the interest you are right it is at a budding stage but are sure it will slowly set in . As I am not servicing the course now it may not be feasible but it is quite user friendly. Have you tried out some of its features?

Hi Dr Hyleen
Thanks for the reply. I understand that you are not servicing the course now. However up to now only you and Dr Naeck have been the main contact persons at MIE as concerns Edulicense.
If the Edulicense effectively becomes a prerequisite, it is obvious that this programme will become more popular. This will create the opportunity for the emergence of a community of "Licensed Educators" which will comprise not only the "Licensed" but also main contributors from MIE like yourself and Dr Naeck. Till now the Edulicense students are relatively "independent" learners but the formation of an appropriate community will provide opportunity for collaborative work even outside the classroom. However the setting up of such community would not be easy without the support of individuals or institutions like MIE. This is only my personal reflection on the formation of a community of "Licensed Educators". All are invited to post their reflection on this issue and lets hope for any positive outcome .
