This area has remained without any response for a long time. It seems that few teachers have the motivation to do more than the routine... or am I wron? I hope! I am proposing to start regular support for teachers of Form V, teaching Sociology. We have constituted a small group and hope to expand it in the future. You will see our comments and resources soon. Please feel free to join in.

What I diligently work toward in the classroom is a promotive interaction facilitated through group participation that guides student discussion, inquiry, and critical thought regarding the human condition. The creative and innovative aspects of teaching sociology is to discover through ongoing exploration techniques that engage the student to THINK, and then to THINK again about how our social environments shape thoughts and behavior. I'm always on the lookout for ideas about how best we (professors of sociology) can connect with our students while applying theoretical foundations that are applicable to our day-to-day lives. Most important; how does sociology relate to the development of the "self"?

You seem to have some good ideas and motivations as well. Why don't you get in tough and meet for some further discussion & action on this matter.

Sociology online materials:
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
Introduction to Sociology:
Sociology is the study of human social life. Human social life is complex and encompasses many facets of the human experience. Because of the complexity, the discipline of sociology subdivided over time into specialty areas. The first section of this book covers the foundations of sociology, including an introduction to the discipline, the methods of study, and some of the dominant theoretical perspectives. The remaining chapters focus on the different areas of study in sociology.

not only sociology is overlooked because history and geography also are overlooked by both students and teachers.atleast we do have some people who opt for sociology but what about history which is an important part in our life.
