The MIE is a parastatal body operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Education & HR. The main objective of the MIE is to be an enhanced provider of training at all levels in Mauritius and in the region.
We are currently facing acute shortage of space to cater for the growing needs of our stakeholders.
Consequently, MIE intends to build a 2 storey reinforced concrete L-shape building above the grounds on pillars of an approximate size of 1,500 m2 . Provision should also be made for an additional floor. The block will run parallel to existing classrooms block with a gap of 2.0 m to allow lighting on the lower floor.
The area of land available is 750 m2
The estimated cost is Rs 27m and is apportioned as follows:
Ø For the year 2011 Rs 22m; and
Ø For the year 2012 Rs5m.
The building will be used mainly for conducting training purposes in a conducive environment.
