PART-TIME LECTURESHIP
 

The Mauritius Institute of Education is a tertiary institution offering both face-to-face and mixed mode courses mainly to pre-primary, primary and secondary teachers.

Applications are invited from candidates possessing the relevant qualifications and experience to establish a pool of part-time lecturers in the following fields:

(i)            Business Education – Accounting/Business Studies/Economics/Travel & Tourism

(ii)          Computer Education – Computer Science and Pedagogy

(iii)         Curriculum Studies and Evaluation

(iv)         Design and Technology – Technology Teaching

(v)          Education Studies/Pedagogy/Psychology/Philosophy/Sociology/   Research Methods/Remedial & Special Education

(vi)         Educational Administration and Management

(vii)        English – Linguistics/Didactics

(viii)      French – Linguistics/Didactics

(ix)         Home Economics (Design & Textile)

(x)          Mathematics Education

(xi)         Physical and Movement Education

(xii)        Science Education  - Biology/Chemistry/Physics

(xiii)      Social Studies – Geography/History/Sociology

(xiv)      Valued-Based Education

(xv)        Visual Arts/Creative Education

(xvi)      Early Childhood Education

Qualifications and Experience

(a)      A degree in the relevant field;

(b)      Post Graduate qualification/s in Education/Pedagogy; and

(c)      At least 5 years post graduate teaching experience.

Or alternative qualifications acceptable to the MIE

Courses are normally scheduled as follows:

Applications should be made on the prescribed forms obtainable at the Reception Desk, Mauritius Institute of Education, Réduit, during office hours or may also be downloaded from MIE website http://www.mieonline.org

Duly filled in applications forms (in two copies) and supported by photocopies of birth, educational certificates and relevant documents should reach the Office of the Registrar, Mauritius Institute of Education, Réduit at latest by Monday 26 July 2010 at 3.00 p.m.

The top left hand corner of the envelope should be clearly marked  “Part-Time Lectureship”.
