The Design and Technology department of the Mauritius
Institute of Education organized an exhibition on
‘B Ed Design and Technology Project Work’ on the 25th and 26th of January 2010. This exhibition which
was meant to familiarize Design and Technology amongst the staff and students of the Institute has been a real success!
Visitors have appreciated the problem-solving skills,
creativity and dexterity in the use of materials, which
our B Ed students have displayed in their work.
The problems solved ranged from the Pilgrim’s safety coat
with LEDs, the ecological GRP bin, the outdoor
garden trolley, the retractable car port, the chair that can be transformed into a stepladder, the educational toy,
the stepladder-cart unit, the dog’s kennel, the coffee table, the phone and Hi-fi unit, the modular DVD rack, the
musculation unit, the children playing unit, the glass church trolley, to the electrical clothes dryer.
The department intends to repeat this wonderful experience
each year.
