The Educator’s Licence is meant to provide an initiation to graduates and prospective teachers to the basic requirements of the profession. The Educator’s Licence course has been redesigned in line with the request of the HRDC to meet the training requirement of the Education sector.

The Educator’s Licence is a fee paying course and the responsibility of attendance and participation rests fully with the prospective applicants. By assigning the full responsibility to the applicants, it is expected that only those with the required level of motivation and commitment to the profession will apply for the License.

Applicants with an Educator’s Licence will be provided with exemption for the two similar modules of the PGCE Programme. The Educator’s Licence will become mandatory for all applicants to the post of Educators. The Educator’s Licence should be considered as an entrance requirement to the teaching profession and,

at no moment, should be viewed as a professional qualification. It is the entry requirement to move from level 7/8 to level 9 (National Qualifications Framework) in the teaching profession.
