AWARD COURSES 2009

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following courses scheduled to start in January 2009.

 

1.        POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION (FULL-TIME)

 

Main Fields of Study

(i)                      Business Education

(ii)                      Science with Physics or Chemistry or Biology

(iii)                  Computer Education

(iv)                  Design & Technology

(v)                    English

(vi)                  French

(vii)                Home Economics

(viii)              Mathematics

(ix)                  Physical Education

(x)                    Social Sciences (Geography, History, Sociology)

(xi)                  Visual Arts

 

In addition, students will have to follow a ‘core’ course in Theory of Education.

 

Minimum Admission Requirements:

(i)                 5 Credits at SC/GCE ‘O’ level including English Language;

(ii)                2 ‘A’ Levels with at least one of them being relevant to the Main Field of Study applied for;

 or acceptable alternative qualifications;

(iii)               A degree relevant to the Main Field of Study offered

 

Duration of Course

One year (2 Semesters)

Course fee

A fee of Rs 15,000/- for the whole course is payable in two installments at the beginning of each semester (excluding library & Union fees).

 

2.         TEACHER'S DIPLOMA - SECONDARY (FULL-TIME)

 

Main Fields of Study

 

(i)                 Science with Physics or Chemistry or Biology

(ii)                Business Education

(iii)               Computer Education

(iv)             English

(v)              French

(vi)             Mathematics

(vii)            Physical Education

(viii)           Home Economics

(ix)             Social Sciences (History, Geography, Sociology)

(x)              Design and Technology

(xi)            Travel and Tourism

(xii)          Visual Arts

(xiii)        Western Music*

*In collaboration with the Conservatoire de Musique François Mitterand.

In addition, students will have to follow a ‘core’ course in Theory of Education.

 

Minimum Admission Requirements

 

(i)      5 Credits at SC/GCE '0' level including English Language;

(ii)     2 ‘A’ levels with at least one of them being relevant to the course       

        applied for;

or acceptable alternative qualifications.

 

Duration of Course

Two Years (full-time) (4 semesters)

 

 

Course Fee:

A fee of Rs12,500/- is payable at the beginning of each year.

 

  

 

Applications for the following Part-Time programmes scheduled to start in January 2009 are invited from suitable qualified practising Secondary School Teachers.

 

1.           POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION  (PART-TIME)

for In-Service Teachers

Minimum Admission Requirements:

A degree relevant to the Main Field of Study offered

 

Duration of Course

Two Years (4 Semesters)

 

Registration fee

A fee of Rs 3,000/- for the course is payable at the beginning of each Year (excluding library & Union fees).
