Hi! I am presently working at the IVTB Training centre as instructor communication skills english and french. I have already completed my undergraduate degree-BA (hons) English and i would like to know if i'm qualified for to follow the PGCE Part time course. From what i read about this course, i find it very much important for someone who is in the teaching field. It is essential for a teacher to master teaching skills. I would like to add that this type of course should be made more accessible to those wiiling to join the teaching field.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
Tinsee Naika

Why is the PGCE course(part time) only accessible to people who are in the teaching field ?It is very dissapointing as there are other people who work and would like to follow the course.

Why is the PGCE(Part time)accessible to only people to teach in secondary school? How about those who are teaching in primary and want to follow this course?

It's indeed very bad that the PGCE (part-time) course is not available, in particular to primary school teachers with a degree. This course would have helped us move in the secondary.

HI, It's very cruel that this course is not accessible to those who wish to follow it even if they are not degree holder as someone may do both at the same time. Other thing as well is that why even if a person is studying General education which is the same as PGCE from distance learning from an abroad and recognized institution, must follow the PGCE of Mauritius in order to teach? Since there is no enough places for this course, it is quite unfair to ask people who are at their 3rd or fourth year of degree, to do a PGCE of at least 2 yrs in order to be teacher. We have been waiting so long to be teacher including studying General education and now we must follow the same course titled PGCE....

Hello. I have seen that the PGCE programme is limited to only certain areas. But then what happens to those persons who have a degree in the accounting or tourism field...

Hello,
I have just completed my BA(hons) French at the University of Mauritius with a 1st class honours. I would like to know if am eligible to follow the PGCE course because i want to enter the teaching profession. Do i need to be already a teacher or can i follow the course while having no experience in teaching. I am looking forward for a positive answer because i think it will be the best possible start for me as a teacher to have the required teaching skills. I thank you in aniticipation
