Le Funday, « teaching is fun » Formation modernisée

It is extremely important for educationists in Africa to meet and deliberate on educational issues in Africa. It is our responsibility to share our knowledge with one another and strengthen our intellectual capacity regarding education in Africa.
The DETA 2009 Conference will create a unique platform to achieve the above. The previous DETA 2007 Conference attracted more that 200 educationists from 30 countries in Africa. The DETA 2009 promises to be an even bigger event. Plan now for your attendance at this exiting conference.
Benefits of attending this conference
Participants at this conference will get the chance to:
- Gain new insights into the possibilities for teacher training in Africa.
- Participate in the development of a research agenda for teacher training in Africa.
- Develop exciting and worthwhile new partnerships and networks amongst individuals and institutions
- involved in the delivery of teacher training programmes in Africa.
The project will create open content electronic textbooks that will be freely available from a website. Distribution will also be possible via paper, CD, or DVD. Our goal initially is to focus on content development and Web distribution, and we will work with relevant authorities to facilitate dissemination by other means when bandwidth is unavailable or inadequate. The goal is to make textbooks available to the many who cannot afford them.

Draft Education & Human Resources Strategy Plan 2008-2020
The Education & Human Resources Strategy Plan (EHRSP) has been formulated in line with the vision of providing a quality education for all and developing a Human Resource base to transform Mauritius into an intelligent nation state in the vanguard of global progress and innovation through the development of a culture of achievement and excellence.
Central to this Plan is the universalisation of opportunities for quality education at all levels, right from pre-primary through to post-secondary education subsectors, and for the training sector. The drive is thus towards ensuring access to learning opportunities for all and fostering innovation and generating new knowledge for the socio-economic and sustainable development of the nation.
